For my final in my 3D animation class, I got to create whatever I wanted to make. Having just recently worked with making projections to go along with songs, I decided I wanted to have something more meaningful. In Disturbance of Ignorance, I wanted to capture the idea of seeing different possibilities to what could be and raise the question of if it’s better or worse to know of them. All of this was done using 3DS Max for the animations, Zbrush and Mudbox for modeling and texturing, and Adobe Audition for sound.
For our senior project, we were able to create whatever we wanted from what we learned at our time at Northern Illinois University. Since I’ve always loved cartoons, it only made sense that that was what I worked on. In this project, many different programs were used. Using Adobe products like Animate, Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, Audition, Character Animator, and Media Encoder all helped out greatly.
For my animated short, I needed to make sure when a character turned, or had any movement, that they would remain proportionate. To do this, I decided to sketch out how they would look from every angle and fill in scenes with those finished sketches. This character is PJ, an overly energetic and excited DJ who gets kicked out of his home town and works to get back in some day. Sage, a character born in a medieval-themed town. She is looked at as crazy for wanting to be a magician rather than studying sorcery. as an inventor, she designs cards to have different spells in them, rather than casting them. And Venti, an aspiring hero who is terrified of pretty much everything. Usually the voice of reason in the group.
